Testimonials

The BBO Big Band has been playing and performing for over 25 years. We raise money for charity and provide great entertainment for all types of events. You don’t need to just take our word for it.

Here is a selection of some of our most recent testimonials. For more information on the band contact Hilary Spiers, Bookings.

Thames Valley Hospice April 2013

“The Rotarians have been very positive. The amount going to charity was £2 400. One Rotarian, who brought with him a musician friend said that he (the musician) reckoned that BBO was the best semi-pro big band he had ever heard. He was especially complimentary about the trumpets, who, he said were very accurate. Most remarks concerned the fact that, not only did the band play very well, they also looked as if they were enjoying every minute. Altogether a most successful evening.”

“Just a quick note to thank you and the Band for a superb performance on 14th September. It really was an evening to be enjoyed with nothing but praise for you all.The whole evening went off as we had hoped it would, with the audience getting involved from the off. The evening produced the net sum in the region of £1700 to £1800 so our charity pot swelled nicely . Thanks to your efforts. We will be in touch to fix a further date I am sure for sometime in the new year.”

Wokingham Rotary September 2012

“Will you please pass on the thanks of the Committee, those attending and me for giving us such a good evening. Everyone left on a high and the band was superb as usual. Again my thanks.”

Binfield Heath Annual Flower Show  August 2012

“On behalf of the Chairman, committee and the 400 general membership of THROB, can I thank you and the Band Concert you gave last night at Bourne End Community Centre in aid of THROB.I am sure the enjoyment and participation of the audience was obvious to you all up on the stage…it raised something over £1,500 for our funds from the tickets (still held at £10!) sold to the 195 people in the audience, plus the raffle. The annual concert is (and has been for the past 15 years) part of the THROB social activities programme for its members and families and our major fundraising event, as well as being a firm fixture in the Maidenhead, Bourne End, south Bucks etc area social and musical scene.  For many people, it is an annual “Reunion”… We had to turn about 20 people away due to the limit of the hall’s capacity.  Once again many thanks to you, the Band and Singers for a wonderful evening’s entertainment and support for our fundraising.”

THROB (The Heart Rehabilitation Organisation) November 2011
